Beloved husband of Judith Fister (nee Saracini); loving father of Michele (Jim) Maritz, Cheryl (Jeff) Roggensack and Renee (Don) Johnson. Proud and loving grandfather of Jimmy, Lindsey, Teddy Maritz; Leann, Rachel and the late Kelly Roggensack; Donald, Tyler and Luke Johnson. Brother, brother in law, uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Jim signed a professional baseball contract with the Cincinnati Reds at the age of 18 and played 4 years ending in class B when he was drafted into the Army. He served proudly in Korea from 1951-1953 earning the Combat Infantry badge, 2 bronze stars and the United Nations service medal.

Jim retired from Metropolitan Life Insurance after a successful 35 years of service. Services: Funeral Mass at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, Ellisville, Saturday, 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor, St. Luke's Hospice or St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church.

Visitation Saturday 10:00 a.m. at church until time of service. A service of the Schrader Funeral Home and Crematory.
