John H. Driscoll VENICE, Fla. - John H. Driscoll, 78, of Venice and formerly of Northampton, passed away Dec. 18, 2008. Born in Northampton, July 6, 1930, he was the son of the late Paul J. and Frances (Moriarty) Driscoll. He was educated in Northampton schools and was a graduate of Northampton High School where he played baseball and football, scoring the first touchdown on David Wright Field. He was drafted by the Brooklyn Dodgers and played in their minor league system. Jack was a Korean
War veteran, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, achieving the rank of staff
sergeant. He also served for 26 years in the Massachusetts State Police,
retiring in 1981. |
