News, 2/14/2009 Mr. Doyle had played baseball in the city amateur baseball league and went on to play minor league ball in the New York Yankee's organization. After his playing days he remained active in baseball by coaching for many years at the high school and American Legion levels. He was a member of the Waterbury Retired Teacher's Association; a communicant of St. William Catholic Church in Naples and the Knights of Columbus. In addition to his wife of 49 years, he is survived by two sons, William E. Doyle and his wife, Susan of Fairfield, CT and Edward A. Doyle and his wife, Leanne of South Orange, NJ; one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Malolepszy and her husband, John of North Andover, MA; one sister, Eileen Doyle Jackson of Vernon, CT; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four brothers, Edward, Donald, Robert and Clarence Doyle; and one sister, Barbara Doyle. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 16th at 9:45 a.m. from the Bergin Funeral Home, 290 East Main Street, Waterbury to Blessed Sacrament Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be private. Calling hours are Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
