Jesse Dorsey, 87, passed away peacefully on Jan 31st 2012 surrounded by his family and serenely taking his final journey home to be with his Father in Heaven after a brief bout with cancer.

Born on December 14th 1924 Jesse was a life-long resident of Florida. His life touched all those he met; he had a quick wit and contagious laugh which never failed to lift the mood of those around him. He enjoyed board games and fishing with family and friends. Jesse recently resided at Baldemero Lopez Veterans Home in Land O Lakes, Florida. He previously lived for over 20+ years in Orlando with his loving wife Beth Dorsey and 20+ years in the Vero Beach area.

Jesse was a devout member of Liberty Baptist Church in Orlando where he was instrumental in bringing many people to the Lord through his ministry and teachings.

He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years Beth Dorsey, (Brothers) Ralph and Edward Dorsey of Orlando and Jacksonville respectively. (Daughter) Sue Queen, Plant City and (Son) David Dorsey of Tampa. (Grandchildren) Jared Dorsey, Tampa. Keith and Amy Queen, Lakeland and Plant City respectively. Jesse also had a beautiful great grandson Evan Queen of Lakeland. Jesse also had many loving step and adopted children, Rhonda Larson, Sandwich, IL., Carl Worley Sr., Scottsdale, AZ.,Frances Mooneyham, St. Cloud, Fl., John Worley, Tucson, Az., Walter Worley, Edgewood, N.M, and grandchildren.

Jesse grew up in Turkey Creek outside of Plant City as one of 8 children. As a boy Jesse worked on his family's strawberry farm in Turkey Creek. He graduated from Turkey Creek High School in 1942 and then played semi pro- baseball for several years before going into the Navy in 1944.

After the war he worked 10 years in Route sales before marrying and fathering his 2 children David and Sue. Jesse worked for many years in route sales and then for Piper aircraft in the early 80's. He also had his own successful landscaping business which he ran for many years in the Vero Beach area.
We ask that you join us in remembering the love and joy Jesse brought to all that he touched.

Funeral arrangements will be handled by Woodlawn Funeral Home of Orlando.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donation be made to the American Cancer Society.
