Alexander M. Dornstauder,
87, of Middleburgh, NY, passed away Thursday, (September 2, 2010) at his
daughter's home in West Hartford, CT.
Born in New York City, the son of the late Ludwig and Helena (Bajak) Dornstauder,
he lived in New York State for his entire life. Alex and his wife, Jean
Mary Catherine Kuznik Dornstauder, were married to only each other for
over 30 years, until Jean's death in 1986. Alex remained devoted to Jean
and never remarried.
Alex was a devoted family man, a loving husband and father. Alex worked
as an automotive engineer for the Ford Motor Company. In his spare time,
Alex was an avid sportsman and woodworker, enjoying hunting, fishing and
home improvement projects.
An avid New York Yankees fan, Alex himself played Minor League Baseball
for the Bristol Twins and the NY Giants organizations. He also was a talented
and accomplished opera singer.
Alex is survived by his three children Alex, Gregory and Jeanne and his
five grandchildren.
Alex will be immensely missed by his family and the many friends he made
over his life time. A celebration of his life will be held at a later
