Doug Donnan, 89, of Hemet, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 and will be respectfully laid to rest at Riverside National Cemetery.

Mr. Donnan was born in San Diego, CA and retired in Hemet in 1980. He was an alumnus of University of California, Berkeley where he was a member of the Big "C" Society, Skull and Keys, and Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Europe in the 3rd Infantry, 100th Division, and 23rd Corps as a commissioned officer. He played professional baseball in the Brooklyn Dodgers organization after the war.

Doug worked in the furniture industry with American Seating Company, Virtue Manufacturing Company, Howell and Metalcraft as General Manager, and Senior Vice President for Burd Incorporated.

He was a member of Masonic Lodge #807 in Thousand Oaks, CA and Seven Hills Golf Club. He and his wife, Jane, enjoyed world travel from 1980 until her passing in 1999.

He is survived by two sons, Greg of Harbor City, CA and Jeff and his wife, Dawn, of Northridge, CA; a sister, Gladys Glidden of Hayward, CA; grandson, Jake; and eight nephews and nieces.
