Joseph A. Doljack
Funeral Mass for Joseph A. Doljack, 99, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at St. Vitus Catholic Church, 6019 Lauche Ave., Cleveland. The Rev. Joseph Bosnar will officiate.
Mr. Doljack died May 20, 2010, at Governors Village in Mayfield Village.
He was born Aug. 3, 1910, in Cleveland. He lived at Governors Village for seven years and was a former resident of Wickliffe and Cleveland.
He was a member of S.N.P.J. Lodge 126. He also was a professional baseball player from 1930 to 1940, playing in the minor leagues in 40 states. Joes older brother, Frank, played for the 1934 world champion Detroit Tigers in the 1930s.
Mr. Doljack was a salesman for National Beverage for 44 years until retiring in 1975.
He is survived by sons, Joseph C. (Ella) and Frank (Sharon); daughters, Linda Plecnik and Mary L.; grandsons, Matt and Mark; granddaughters, Maria, Stacey and Shelly; and great-grandsons, Alex and Daniel.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (nee Zavasky); son-in-law, Matt Plecnik; brothers, John, Frank, Rudy and Tony; and sisters, Mary Primosch and Jean Zevnik.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Zele Funeral Home, 452 E. 152nd St., Cleveland.
Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
