Dunnellon - Belmont
H. "Lefty" Deneau, age 73 years, of Dunnellon, Florida, died
Thursday, December 20 at Citrus Memorial Hospital, Inverness.
He was born June 8, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan, son of the late Belmont
G. and Jane E. (Stiles) Kett. He was a lifelong resident of Michigan,
moving here in 1985 from Gibraltar, MI. He retired as the Police Chief
for Gibraltar Dept. of Public Safety (The Police and Fire Dept.) in 1981,
having served for 26 years.
He was a charter member of the Dunnellon Moose Lodge #2308 and past member
of the Rainbow Springs Golf and Country Club. He was an avid golfer and
loved playing all sports especially tennis.
Earlier in life he was a Professional Pitcher with the St. Louis Browns
and the Detroit Tigers Baseball Teams. He was known to his family as "Monty".
He is survived by: his loving wife of 53 years, Joan Deneau, Dunnellon;
daughter Carol Kermans (James), Taylor, MI; three sons: Timothy Deneau
(Mary), Boyne City, MI; Jeffrey Deneau, Tenton, MI and Kyle Deneau (Ann),
Dunnellon; five grandchildren: Ryan, Nicholas, Cory, Andrew and Ashlee;
two sisters: Shirley Bidleman (Allen), Gibraltar, MI and Jane Hines (Richard),
Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Ronald Deneau and Richard Deneau
and his grandson Aaron Kyle Deneau on August 6, 2000. A Memorial Service
will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at ROBERTS FUNERAL
CHAPEL, 19939 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Dunnellon, with Rev. Jeffrey Welch
of Dunnellon Presbyterian Church officiating.
Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the service time. Memorial
Donation may be given to the Dunnellon Moose Lodge #2308, 11890 N. Florida
Ave., Dunnellon, FL 34434.
Arrangements are under the care of ROBERTS FUNERAL HOME OF DUNNELLON,
still family owned and operated.
