James Alva Dawson, 80, of Kennewick, WA, passed away May 18, 2012.

Born in Watts, California, on Feb. 5, 1932, he graduated from Pasadena High School. His first wife was Patsy Cox. His second wife was Shirley Hanson (Arnett).

Jim was in minor league baseball and on farm teams from 1951 to 1954. He had been a police officer for the Downey, CA, police dept., a repossession officer, in auto sales, and an ordained minister.

Jim is survived by sons, Mark Dawson, Jamie Buckley, Dan Buckley; daughter, Wanda Dawson; grandchildren, Ashley Merriman, Brittany Dawson, Nicole Dawson, Corey Buckley, Colin Buckley, Caitlyn Buckley; great-grandchildren, Ethan Fromm, Adriannah Merriman, Dominic Mustain.

A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. May 29, 2012, at 602 S. Washington, Kennewick, WA, 99336.
