DAVIS, MR. DAVID L. - age 67 of Jacksboro, passed away Friday, July 3, 2009 at St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County.

David was a member and Deacon of the LaFollette First Baptist Church and a former baseball player in the minor league associates with the Washington Senators and Cincinnati Reds baseball teams.

He enjoyed spending time with his canine companion, Mercedes. He was preceded in death by wife Jane Shoun Davis, parents Wren and Nola Lambdin Davis, sisters, Shelby Preston and Lorene Preston and by brother Ralph (Bud) Davis.

Survivors: wife. Mrs. Shirley Kitts Davis of Jacksboro; children, Jason Davis and wife Leigh Ann of Seymour, TN, Lori Walden and husband Tim of Fairborn, OH, LeEllen Green and husband Darrell of LaFollette; grandchildren, Hannah, Haley and Olivia Walden, Rogan Davis, Laura Green and Bobby Green; sisters-in-law, Dutcha Davis of Dayton, OH, Jean Ann Teague of Greer, SC; brothers-in-law, Wilbur Shoun and Steve Shoun both of Maryville, TN; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services Tuesday 6 P.M. at LaFollette First Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Walden and Rev. Bill Horner officiating.

Family and friends will meet Wednesday 11 A.M. at Campbell Memorial Gardens for graveside services and interment. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to: National Kidney Foundation , 4450 Walker Blvd. Suite 2, Knoxville, TN 37917-1547 or: Campbell County Cancer Association, 124 Woodvine St., Jacksboro, TN 37757.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 P.M. Tuesday before services at LaFollette First Baptist Church.
