Harry Rohr Crouthamel
III, 86, of Pensacola, died Saturday, May 10, 2008 at a local hospital.
Mr. Crouthamel was born July 09, 1921 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to
Harry Rohr Crouthamel, Jr. and Laura P. Crouthamel. Mr. Crouthamel started
playing baseball in the Minor League and moved up to the Major League
in the Cincinnati Reds Organization.
He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II and in the U. S. Army
in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Crouthamel was a life long Lutheran and recently
had been attending the Myrtle Grove United Methodist Church. As an avid
golfer, Mr. Crouthamel enjoyed the many courses in the Pensacola area.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son, Harry R. Crouthamel IV and
daughter, JoAnn Crouthamel.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine Crouthamel of Pensacola; daughter,
Linda Brian and husband Mark of Pensacola; Daughter-in-law, Fredna Crouthamel
of Pensacola; grandchildren, Harry R. Crouthamel V, Thomas Brian and wife
Mandi and Kelly Brian all of Pensacola; sister, Jeanne LaPenta of New
Jersey.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 14, 2008
at Myrtle Grove United Methodist Church with Dr. Charles Avery officiating.
OAK LAWN FUNERAL HOME, 619 New Warrington Road is in charge of arrangements.
