CRAFT, Gerry E., 58, of St. Clairsville, died Tuesday, December 1, 2009, in the Cleveland Clinic.

He was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio, on April 29, 1951, son of Emmett Craft and Eva Holliday Craft.

After playing professional baseball for three seasons and managing for one season, Gerry scouted for 30 years, the first seven years for the Milwaukee Brewers and the last 23 years with the Houston Astros.

He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Kimberly Jo Craft.

Surviving are his parents, Emmett and Eva Craft of St. Clairsville; his wife, Louise Kidder Craft; two daughters, Maizee Craft of Caldwell and Mandee Craft of Zelienople, Pennsylvania; and his sister, Cheryl Cox of Sarasota, Florida.

Family and friends will be received on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in Richland Cemetery.
