Louis Comparin,
85, passed away peacefully Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Wednesday in Arlington Funeral Home Chapel, 1221 E. Division,
Arlington.
Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens.
Visitation: The family will receive friends 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, prior
to the service.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to
Alzheimer's Association of Greater Dallas: www.alz.org/greaterdallas.
Louis was born Aug. 5, 1925, in San Antonio. He graduated from Brackenridge
High School and then joined the U.S. Army and received two Purple Heart
medals for his service in World War II. Louis attended St. Mary's University
in San Antonio where he played baseball and basketball.
He played professional baseball in the Chicago White Sox minor leagues.
He married Novella Yvonne Miller in 1950. He retired from LTV in 1984.
Louis was a lifetime member of the Purple Heart Chapter 1879 and the LTV
Retiree Club.
He and Novella attended the Oak Lawn Methodist Church. Louis had many
talents but was best at being a son, brother, husband, father, grandparent
and uncle. He loved to travel and was constantly working on projects.
He will be missed by all of his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ruth Comparin; and brothers,
Rudy, Robert and Angel Comparin.
Survivors: His loving wife of 60 years, Novella Comparin; children, John
and wife, Joanne, Tony and wife, Debbi, and Cynthia and husband, Denny
Alberts; sisters, Margaret Karambis of San Antonio and MaryAnn Sadon of
Laguna Niguel, Calif.; grandchildren, MaryAnn, Angelina, Cashen, Joseph
and Jenna; and great-grandchildren, London and Jacoby.
