Edward J. Cercek, age 80, of Brecksville, was the beloved husband of Marie Janet (nee Solosi); loving father of Edward P., Timothy J. (Bernie Bodnar) and Thomas J. (Carole); dearest grandfather of Kourtney, Patrick, James, Amy and Jonah; and dear brother of Raymond, James (deceased) and Mildred (deceased).

He was a retired detective of the Cleveland Police Department for 33 years, Philadelphia Phillies Minor League Player and a Benedictine High School Class of 1946 graduate.

Friends received at THE ST. JOHN FUNERAL HOME, 923 BROADWAY, BEDFORD (ONE MILE WEST OF FORBES-BROADWAY EXIT OF I-271), SUNDAY, 2 TO 4 AND 6 TO 8 P.M., where services will be held Monday, January 7 at 9:30 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Church, Bedford at 10 a.m.  

Burial at All Saints Cemetery. Although flowers are appreciated, the family suggests contributions to Hospice of the Western Reserve.
