MCLEANSVILLE — Richard "Rick" Douglas Causey, 84, of McLeansville, died Thursday, August 20, 2009, in Greensboro.

His funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 22, at George Brothers Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.

Rick joined the Navy when he was seventeen and served during World Ware II. He owned and operated Causey Plumbing Service until his retirement. Other than his family, Rick's passion was sports. He loved bowling, fishing and golf. He also played semi-pro baseball in North Carolina as a left handed pitcher.

Mr. Causey is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Louise Causey.

A loving husband, father, and grandfather, he is survived by his children, Doug Causey and wife, Beverly, and Nathan Causey and wife, Luanne, all of Greensboro; Gail Matthews and husband, Steve, of McLeansville and Beth Beaver and her husband, Gary, of Brown Summit; and his beloved grandchildren, Justin Causey, Adam Causey, Mitchell Matthews, Michael Matthews, Jake Beaver and Megan Beaver.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. tonight, Friday, at the funeral home and other times at 4601 Honeydew Drive in McLeansville.
