A much-loved husband, father, brother and friend, Frank A. Capitani, of Hershey, PA passed away Friday, June 22, 2012. Born on December 16, 1935 in Hershey, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Annina Capitani.


He was employed as a teacher and coach at Lower Dauphin High School in Hummelstown, PA and was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic church in Hershey.

A 1954 graduate of Hershey Senior High School and 1958 graduate of Gettysburg College, Frank was an outstanding athlete both in high school and college earning letters in three sports. Upon graduation from college he signed a professional baseball contract with the Philadelphia Phillies and served in the military.

A Renaissance man, Frank excelled in sculpture and painting.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Lisa C. Capitani and sister Laura Martino and is survived by his wife of 53 years Patricia; daughter Maria C. Grab (John); sons Frank S. Capitani (Jessica) and Mark J. Capitani (Jennifer); daughter Lauren C. Negherbon (Robert); three grandsons, Caden Capitani, Robert and Anthony Negherbon; sisters Sylvia Pennesi, Lily Capitani, and Sister Mary Salvatoris.

He is also survived by a loving extended family and many loyal friends.

Visitation will be held at Hoover Funeral Home in Hershey, Wednesday, June 27th from 6-8 p.m., with Funeral Mass on Thursday, June 28th at 11a.m. A short visitation will be held at Hoovers at 9:30 a.m., Thursday before Mass.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Children's Miracle Network of Hershey.
