Harry Bushkar Jr

Harry Bushkar Jr., 83, of Roanoke, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2008. He was born in Logan W.Va., on April 9, 1925, son of the late Harry and Mary Bushkar. Mr. Bushkar was a Virginia Tech graduate.

He was a well respected basketball and football official. For most of his adult life he was an insurance agent for New England Life.

He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. His survivors include his wife, Mayola Bushkar; children, Dr. Phillip Bushkar and his wife, Angie, of Roanoke, Bob Bushkar and his wife, Betsy, of Richmond, and Lynne White and her husband, Wayne, of Fluvanna County; brother, John Bushkar and his wife, Betty, of Tampa Fla.; sister, Sophia Bushkar, of Roanoke; half sister, Alice Lupskeiviez, of Roanoke; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, September 4, 2008, at Oakey's South Chapel. Pastor Timothy Anderson will officiate.

Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 3, 2008, at Oakey's South Chapel, 540-989-3131.
