John M. (Jack) Brown, age 75, passed away December 16,2008, in Colorado Springs. Jack was born February 7, 1933, in Elizabeth, Pennsylvania, to John and Harriet (Chaussinand) Brown.

Jack was married to Yvonne Kolm on July 18, 1954, in Colorado Springs, who survives him. They celebrated their 54th anniversary this year.

Jack is also survived by a son, Gary D. (Diane) of Monument, Colo., a son Deron M. (Vicki) of Puyallup, Wash., a daughter, Jacquelyn L. Lloyd (Scott) of Denver, 11 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Howard and Tom, and his sisters Evelyn and Cleo.

Mr. Brown had lived in Manitou Springs since 1959. He previously lived in Pennsylvania. He was a member of Rock of Ages Lutheran Church in Colorado Springs. Jack was a veteran of the Korean War, and belonged to the American Legion in Manitou Springs.

Jack was a professional baseball player from 1951-1959, belonging to the Pittsburgh Pirates organization. He managed the Colorado Springs Blue Sox baseball team for several years.

He was employed in freight delivery from 1959-1995, when he retired.

A memorial service celebrating his life will be held Friday, December 19, at 12:00 p.m., at Rock of Ages Lutheran Church, with Pastor Ronald Baker officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
