EARL S. BOURQUE
Age 90 of Old Port Cove, North Palm Beach, passed away on July 8, 2009.
He was born in Milton, LA, an only child of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.E.
Bourque.
Mr. Bourque attended the University of Louisiana, Lafayette where he lettered
in baseball and received his engineering degree in 1942.
After a brief period in minor league baseball in the Evangeline league
he began his career with Westinghouse Electric Corp and in 1948 was employed
by Ebasco Services Inc.
In 1982 he retired as Vice President of Ebasco Construction Division.
His work with Ebasco was in the construction of Nuclear and Fossil power
plants.
Most of his first 30 years was spent in Houston, TX constructing power
plants for Houston Lighting and Power Company.
Mr. Bourque has lived in North Palm Beach since his retirement and was
a member of the North Palm Beach Country Club and the Old Port Yacht Club.
He was an avid golfer and boatman.
He was predeceased by his wife, Eleanor Baab Bourque and is survived by
both paternal and maternal cousins; his sister-in-law, Helen Baab of Overland
Park, KS; nephew, Bill Baab and his wife, Vicki of Dallas, TX; and niece,
Linda and her husband, David Tompkins of Overland Park, KS.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at St.
Paul of the Cross Catholic Church, 10970 Jack Nicklaus Drive, North Palm
Beach, FL 33408.
Mr. Bourque ashes will be spread at sea at a later date.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice of Palm Beach
County or St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton, LA.
