Gary W. Bogatay, Age 73, of North Fayette Twp., Imperial, PA, peacefully on Tuesday morning, August 9, 2011.

Beloved son of the late Mary and Francis "Frank" Bogatay; beloved husband of Marie Page; dear father of Gary W. Bogatay, Jr., Maureen C. Bogatay, Sharon "Sherry" L. Soxman and James F. Bogatay; brother of Patricia "Pat" Rigot; cherished grandfather of seven; also several nieces and nephews.

He was a graduate of West Allegheny High School Class of 1955 and graduated from Duquesne University in 1966.

At the age of 17, he was drafted as a pitcher by the New York Giants and played in their minor league system for four years. His love of baseball persisted in the greater Pittsburgh League, where he was a prominent pitcher for over 20 years.

He was a certified public accountant and began his career at Arthur Anderson Accounting Firm. He went on to become the chief financial officer for Millcraft Industries for 17 years, and at the height of his career, was the president of Bailey Hoogovens.

Gary went on to become an entrepreneur, owning 2 companies located in Washington, PA.

He will be fondly remembered for his love of laughter, his devotion to family, and his unwavering faith in God.

Family to receive friends at the WHARTON-HERRICK FUNERAL HOME, Edward M. Herrick Funeral Director / Owner, 951 Cliffe Mine Rd., North Fayette Twp., Imperial, PA, 724-695-7332, on Friday, August 12 between the hours of 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Columbkille Church, Rte. 30, Imperial, Saturday at 11 a.m.

Everyone please meet at church.

Interment will follow at Holy Souls Cemetery, Robinson Twp., Pgh., PA.
