BLUM, JOHN B., 84, of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at Norton Hospice Pavilion.

He was a retired supervisor for Fischer Meat Packing Company and he was a Marine veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Leonard Catholic Church, St. Joseph Orphan Society, and a former member of River Road Country Club. John also played professional baseball for the Baltimore Orioles.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Clarence Blum.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Ciconett Blum; a daughter, Ann Blum (Jim Watson); two sons, Johnny Blum of Portland, OR and Robert Blum (Michele); a sister, Carolyn Culley; and two granddaughters, Terry Burt (Patrick Donley) and Ashley Wynn (Roger).

The funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Leonard Catholic Church, 440 Zorn Ave., with private burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7:30 p.m. Friday at Ratterman's, 3711 Lexington Road.
