Albert A. Birunas
Albert A. Birunas, 79, of Lancaster, passed away Sunday at Hospice of Lancaster County, Mount Joy, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Donaldson, he was a son of the late Anthony and Domicella Stasuinas Birunas.
He was married to the former Judith Wolfgang for more than 59 years.
Al was a machinist for Federal Mogul BCA for 40 years and had most recently worked at the Manheim Auto Auction for 13 years.
Known to many as "Albe" or "Whitey," he was active in sports and played minor league baseball for the Philadelphia Phillies team. Al was active in the industrial league playing softball and bowling. He also participated in the Senior Games for many years and was a member of the Duffer's Club in golf. An avid hunter, he enjoyed hunting in Schuylkill County. He also enjoyed deep sea fishing and traveling.
He was a member of St. John Neumann Roman Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Judy, are three children, Virginia A., wife of Melvin Schnupp, Clarendon, Ontario, Canada, Larry A. Birunas, husband of Kerri, Lancaster, and Craig A. Birunas, husband of Linda; two sisters, Adella Saltzman, Good Spring, and Frances Knapczyk, Lancaster; six grandchildren, Brandt, Kimberly, Erin, Corey, Lindsay and David; six great-grandchildren.

Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John Neumann
Roman Catholic Church, 601 E. Delp Road, Lancaster, with Monsignor Richard
A. Youtz as the celebrant.
