WOONSOCKET
-James F. Belknap, 77 of Heather Drive, died Monday Dec. 13 at home surrounded
by his family.
He was the husband of Gloria (Fiscaletti) Belknap for 47 years.
Mr. Belknap was born in Woonsocket, a son of the late Harold and Evelyn
(Hartshorn) Belknap.
Besides his wife he leaves two sons, Jeffery Belknap of Woonsocket and
Douglas Belknap of Lincoln and two grandsons, Michael and Brian.
He is survived by a brother Harold Belknap of Slatersville.
He worked construction for the Perini Corp. for several years and most
recently as a Maintenance worker for the Woonsocket School Dept. and as
a Barry Field caretaker retiring in 1994.
He was an instructional league coach for the East Woonsocket Little League
and also coached an American Legion baseball team and served as an assistant
coach for the Woonsocket High School baseball teams. Jim was an avid Villa
Novan supporter of all sports.
He graduated from Woonsocket High School in 1952 as Class President and
co-captain of the 1952 State baseball champions. he was signed by the
Red Sox to a contract and played in their minor league system.
He was an Air Force Veteran and played baseball for their team while serving.

He enjoyed traveling with his wife, family get together and watching his
grandsons play baseball and soccer.
His Funeral will be held Friday Dec. 17, 2010 at 9:00 AM from the S. DiPardo
Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of 1583 Diamond Hill Rd. with a Mass of Christian
Burial at 10:00AM St. Anthony's Church, Green St., Woonsocket.
Burial will be held at St. Charles Cemetery in Blackstone, MA.
