Oct. 29, 1929 to Jan. 13th, 2010
Dr. Earl G. Beesley passed away on January 13th, 2010. Dr. Beesley grew
up in Lancaster Texas and graduated from Adamson High School in Dallas
Texas. Dr. Beesley graduated from Texas A&M after serving as an aviation
cadet during World War II.
Dr. Beesley attended Texas A&M on a football scholarship but played
professional baseball with the Chicago White Sox in their farm system
beginning with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox. Dr. Beesley also played in
the Orange Bowl for Texas A&M one year during his undergraduate time.
Dr. Beesley later obtained a Masters Degree and a PhD in education. Dr.
Beesley spent many years as a sports coach in all three sports of football,
basketball, and baseball with the Dallas Independent School District.
Dr. Beesley retired as a school principal from the Dallas Independent
School District at the age of 56 and pursued his favorite hobby of golf
with a vigor in his retired years.
Dr. Beesley was married to Nelda Lee Beesley and raised three sons. Nelda
Lee Beesley passed away in 1998 and is buried in Grove Hill cemetery in
Dallas, Texas. Dr. Beesley shall be buried in Grove Hill cemetery as well.
Dr. Beesley is survived by his wife, Doris of Laguna Park Texas. They
had been married for ten years. Dr. Beesley is also survived by his three
sons. Mike Lee Beesley, who lives in Southern California, Matt Earl Beesley,
a Film and Television Director living in Bell Canyon California, and Brigadier
General Mark Beesley, a retired Air Force General Officer who lives in
Fairfax City Virginia.
Dr. Beesley shall be remembered as a Father, Husband, Friend, Golfer,
and a Texas Aggie graduate. We shall miss him but he is in a better place
than those here on earth. Gig'em Aggies.
Dr. Beesley's funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on February 20,
2010 at Grove Hill Memorial Park, 4118 Samuell Blvd., Dallas, TX 75228,
with burial following.
