Mr. Roman Bartkowski
Age 83 of Cumming, GA, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2009. He was born
February 18, 1926 and was a WWII Army Veteran.
He played 9 years of professional baseball in the Chicago Cubs organization.
After retiring from baseball Roman worked as a commercial carpenter with
a large West Coast general contractor.
He continued to be involved in baseball coaching and encouraging
young men. He coached the 15-16 year old Santa Clara California Colt League
All Star team to the World Championship in 1969.
Roman loved his family, his friends and baseball.
Survived and deeply loved by his wife of 60+ years, Helen Bartkowski of
Cumming; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Sandee Bartkowski; daughters
and sons-in-law, Teri and Gary Langworthy and Nancy and George Gaddis;
grandsons, Garrett Langworthy and Philip and Peter Bartkowski; granddaughter,
Rosalee Gaddis; great grand daughter, Rane Bartkowski.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, July 29th at 7:30 pm in the
Ingram Funeral Home Chapel.
