Joseph A. Banicki, age 82 of Rochelle, formerly of Calumet City, IL. At rest, May 7, 2009. Proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, WWII.

Beloved husband of 60 years to Dorothy, nee Kamedula; loving father of Guy (Andrea), Gary (Jennie) and the late Joseph Michael Banicki; fond brother of Elizabeth (Don) Klimczak and the late John (Elaine) and Mary Ann (Ed) Wladyka; devoted grandfather of Angela, Joseph, Adam, Brandon, Matthew and Andrew; uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Funeral, Monday, 10:30 a.m. from Hennessy-Nowak Funeral Home, 400 Pulaski Rd. (154th St.) Calumet City to St. Victor Church, Mass, 11:15 a.m.

Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.

Visitation, Sunday from 3:00-8:00 p.m.

Joseph was a retired Chicago public school teacher. He also played baseball for the Cubs in their minor league.
