of San Jose, was born on July 23, 1946, and died on Saturday, December
4, 2010, surrounded by his loving family.
He married Nicci (Kelso) Bandy and they enjoyed 43 wonderful years together.
Bert attended McLane High School in Fresno, Ca. graduating in 1964. From
there he attended Fresno City College.
He had a lifelong passion for baseball, starring as a pitcher for McLane
High and Fresno City College. His baseball career was interrupted by a

He then returned to baseball upon his honorable discharge from the Army.
He went on to pitch successfully for several years in the Philadelphia
Phillies minor league organization.
Bert had a lifelong love of all sports and played baseball into his 50's
and basketball into his 60's. After the birth of his first son, Bert began
his 40 year career in retail sales, working until he was diagnosed with
lung cancer in February of this year. Bert fought bravely until losing
the battle to this dreadful disease. He will be deeply missed by his loving
family and friends.
We love you Dad!
