Chester Robert Ashman Sr.

Chet was born on June
11, 1927 in Tulalip, WA and passed away on January 24, 2012 at the age
of 84. He spent his younger years in the Northwest. His love of baseball
took him across the United States playing pro baseball. In his later years
he enjoyed volunteering as a coach for CalPoly Pomona University.
Chet was married to Patricia (Pat) for 42 years. Pat passed on October
1, 1992. Together they raised four children, Kathleen, Chester Jr. Mike
and Caroline. They enjoyed much of their life in Southern California where
he operated and owned a heating and air conditioning business.
Chet is survived by his children, Kathleen (Bruce), Chester (Debbie),
Mike and Caroline; ten grandchildren, Jennifer, Stacie, Robertsen, Amy,
Kristina, Zach, Megan, Patrick, Delaney, and Kylie; and two great grandchildren,
Kalia and Jordan.
Preceding him in death are his grandparents, Alex and Lucy Young; mother,
Helen Young Ashman; father, Chester Ashman; brother, Elliot Brown Sr.;
sisters, Delores Young Gobin and Loretta Young Contraro; special uncle,
Al "Zip" Young; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be held on Monday, January 30, 2012 at 9 a.m. at Schaefer-Shipman
Funeral Home with a Funeral Service starting at 10 a.m. Burial will be
at Mission Beach Cemetery.
