of North Georgia for over 50 years and was of the Church of Christ faith.
Mr. Alonso graduated from Jefferson High School in Tampa, Fla., where
he was an all star athlete and still holds the record for the most letters
in every sport. He was preceded in death by sisters, Isabel Italiano and Olga Alonso; and brother, Joe Alonso. Survivors are his wife of 59 years, Nancy Alonso; son, David Alonso, Cape Canaveral, Fla.; daughters, Denise (Mike) Lusk, Melody (Dan) Nichols, Ringgold, Robin (Bo) Coshatt, Birmingham; grandchildren, Chris and Cristin Lusk, Carrie Brisendine, Caitlin Nichols, Lauren, Lindsay, Caleigh and Chandler Coshatt; great-grandchildren, Finley Brisendine and Natalie Lusk. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Mike Lusk, Dan Nichols and Minister Mike Gurganus officiating. Interment in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South. Honorary pallbearers will be members and staff of Battlefield Golf and Country Club, Dale Shaffner and James Moreland.
