Tom Adams passed away suddenly at his Arizona home on Thursday, December
16th, 2010.
Tom was born on September 30th, 1942 in Wenatchee, Washington to Robert
and Peggy Adams.
He was married to his wife Tracy of 16 years. Tom grew up in the Seattle
area, graduating from Highline High School in 1961. He signed on to play
minor league baseball for the San Francisco Giants and then played for
the Red Sox.
Tom then went on to serve in the Army branch of the Military where he
continued to play ball. He eventually settled down to become an estimator
in the waterworks business. He was currently employed as an estimator
at Dana Kepner Company out of Phoenix, Arizona.
Tom lived in the Seattle area for most of his life. He and his family
moved to Arizona in 1995 and returned to Seattle in 2001. ln 2007, Tom
and his wife returned to the Phoenix area where they purchased a home
in Apache Junction.
Tom was very athletic in his younger years and continued to enjoy most
sports. He loved football, baseball, hockey and most of all, NASCAR.
Tom also spent many weekends on the golf course with his U-hack league
and enjoyed it very much.
Tom also enjoyed being a father.
He dedicated many weekends to traveling with his son Kyle to hockey games
and tournaments. He also enjoyed coaching his stepson, Brandon's Little
League baseball team for four seasons.
He is survived by his wife Tracy Adams of Apache Junction, Arizona, a
son, Kyle Adams of Federal Way, Washington; stepson Brandon Banks (Chelsea),
and one granddaughter. He is also survived by his brother,'William Adams
of Sumner, Washington; sister, Joanne Ribail (Ron) of Covington, Washington;
and many nieces and nephews. And last but certainly not least, Tom is
survived by his beloved and slightly overweight dog TAZ, (who is now on
a diet! Poor baby).
Tom's service will be held on January 15th, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Love
of Christ Lutheran Church, 1525 North Power Rd., Mesa, AZ. 85205. Reception
following the service at the church. All are welcome.
Memorial donations may be sent to Love of Christ church, or a charity
of your choice in Tom's name.
