Ray N. Adams Resident of San Leandro Passed away on January 29, 2012, from complications of several health issues.

Ray was born on April, 5, 1922 in Oakland to Jack and Claudia Adams. He was proceeded in death by his wife Frances and son Robert "Bob" Adams. He attended Oakland Tech High School where he excelled as a baseball player being sought by numerous professional baseball teams. He served in the US Army during WWII, from 1942 to 1946.

After his service he returned to his baseball career playing professionally for the St. Louis Cardinals and the NY Yankees. He married his wife Frances in 1948 and completed a lengthy career as a carpet sales supervisor for Mortensons Carpet Company. He coached players from St. Leo's, St. Elizabeth High School and Piedmont High School along with several Babe Ruth All Star teams. He touched many players' lives as they moved from little league to professional levels.

He is survived by his daughter Toni Koster (John) of Sparks, NV, son Lynn Adams (Christine) of Lakeland FL, life partner for many years, Jean Harbaugh, grand children Jennifer Nance (Johnathan), Michael Adams ( Victoria), Christina Laramie (Jason), Robbie Huelga and Jake Koster. He is also survived by five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on St. Leo's Catholic Church, 176 Ridgeway Avenue, Oakland Ca, Friday, February 3, 2012 at 10:00 am. Reception to follow at Mission Bay Mobile Home Park, 1533 Wicks Blvd, San Leandro, Ca.
