  Former Major League Ball Player Arnold Earley of Flint Township, died Wednesday, September 29, 1999 at his residence. He was 66 years old.

  Mr. Earley was born in Lincoln Park, Michigan on June 4, 1933 and was a resident of the Flint area since 1969. He married Phyllis Sergent on September 24, 1953. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. Mr. Earley was a member of the F.O.P. Lodge #145, Retired Professional Baseball Alumni Association and Flushing Gun Club.

  He was a Professional Baseball Player for the Boston Red Sox and the Chicago Cubs in the 1960's. He was employed with the Genesee County Sheriffs Department from 1969- 1977.

  Surviving are his wife, Phyllis; son, Gregory and wife Kathy Earley of Hawaii; daughters, Susan Kay Earley of Rochester, Michigan, Karen and husband Dan Smith of Swartz Creek; son, Don and wife Andrea Earley of Seney, Michigan; 8 beloved grandchildren, Michael, Madison, Daniel, Nicholas, Stefanie, Ryan, Lindsay and Hayden; brothers and sisters in the Detroit area. He was preceded in death by his parents.

  Funeral service will be held at 11AM Saturday, October 2, 1999 at Peace Lutheran Church, 2051 West Maple Road in Flint, Pastor James G. Wilber officiating.

  Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.

  Contributions may be made to Peace Lutheran Church.

  Visitation 6-9PM Thursday, 1-9PM Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road and 10AM Saturday until the time of the service at the church.
